Default *SNAP* or *CLICK* after startup & what the mechanic says..

I had posted this before regarding a metallic *SNAP* sound seconds after moving the car. This happens only after the car has been sedentary for a period of time. I suggested some of the responses I got from this bulletin to my usual tech, when a mechanic standing by, jumps in an explains that this was caused by the brake pads breaking loose from rust on the rotors. He said that it wasn't anything to worry about, but also added later that my brakes were right at spec, and probably ought to be changed on my next visit. Anybody experienced this problem or symptoms? Thanks.

Default I've had my brakes do that after it's wet and sits.

It's like the car brakes loose, then everything is fine. I am positive what happens on my car is the brakes.

No big deal!

Default I have noticed the exact same thing!

But I haven't worried about it since the noises are heard only in the first couple of seconds of moving. I figure it's from the car sitting, and some metal parts, having expanded from heat of the drive, "seize" a bit after cooling.

Let us know if changing the brakes eliminate the noises, though.

Default I have Mintex and Zimmerman cross-drilled rotors and I still get the...

same thing on occasion. So I don't think changing the brakes will make a difference. Mine did it with old and new.

Default Okay. It's the automatic e-brake adjustment.

Yes I'm back. Just gonna lay low until the car is back.
