Default [bpv]- do the 2 vac lines NEED clamps that connect to the bpv?

I had a local shop do my chip and bpv install. I just noticed 1 of the vac lines (the one on TOP of the bpv, connected to the intake manifold), doesn't have a clamp holding it on, it's just pushed on. Is it necessary to clamp this hose?
seems like they didn't do it because it's a hard to reach spot.

-my car feels like it lost some of the boost I initially had right after chipping, about 1 week later.

Default you can probably just use a zip tie for that one...

the larger hoses however you would want them clamped.

Default I am gunna use a zip, it seems like I have to remove some parts to access this area.

I am unscrewing the air intake components to gain access to the top part of the bpv. Seems like they couldn't reach it underneath the car, so they never clamped it. I am going to get some clamps tommorow from VW, hopefully when I get the zip-tie on I will have my boost back. thanks.

Default

why not just take the headlight out if you have a 97.

Default I was just about to do that, thanks though

I don't hear the same psssshhhh I did when I got the chip/bpv 2 weeks ago, it's not as loud. I checked all my vac lines, they are all original, but no cracks and the clamps on them appear to be on tight (except the top bpv one thats missing). Hopefully this is what is causing the leak, I wish I had a boost gauge to tell where I am at.

Default does this pic show the correct way to align the evo bpv?

this is how mine is installed, but I see conflicting posts about whether to install it reversed or not. This is how my bpv is installed, with the nipple vac nipple pointing towards the hood. Is this correct?

Default Cant remember with 97s..

although..
you may just want to reference the BPV standing like that with the bottom going from the compressor output to the intercooler.
that is where that should be getting air from and the side referencing the plumb back into the intake.
