I was disconecting my "parking light", and noticed that my headlight housings get really hot after the lights are used. I can almost smell burning plastic.. but I have had these in for over a year. I do see a small brown spot above the bulb, indicating a little burning. Here's my question.. are my 70watt Nokya H7's too much for the stock headlight housings? Is there anything I should be concerned with?

They have been in over a year so they "should" be fine.. I will get 55W's though. Any recommendations on which bright white's?

...however, if you really want to try another set of "whiter" bulbs, some popular choices are SPP's Super Whites (i tried those in my fogs...not bad, but i've since gone back to oem yellow bulbs...much better visibility)...you can see some pics in my pic poster...
or others suchs as Sylvannia SilverStars i think they're called, or their BlueVision...Hoen...do a search and you'll find tonnes of info

A few weeks back I posted about how all of a sudden one night my headlamps were extremely dim. Turned out that the plastic bulb holders (which were fine with my Silver Star bulbs) actually melted and the bulbs fell out! When I opened the housing I began to choke from the gases and fumes that were let out. I would highly recommend sticking with stock wattage bulbs. just my two cents..
