[v&s shifter]- anyone here using the shortened (-1.5" from stock) shifter?

[v&s shifter]- anyone here using the shortened (-1.5" from stock) shifter?
If so, how is it? I am trying to decide which one to purchase. I can either get the standard one and cut it 1" down the threading, or I can order the shortened shifter that is 1.5" shorter than stock. Any input would be appreciated, as I originally made the mistake of purchasing the B&M. thanks.
