Default 034 Motorsport AP Racing bbk vs Porsche Boxster upgrade

Deciding which to get, the AP Racing kit comes with a 321mm x 30mm solid steel rear rotor, 4pot.

boxster is 4pot as well, 312mm.

$500ish for the Boxster, $1500 for the AP Racing.

I plan on going to HPDE events as soon as I get the car ready...

worth the extra money for AP Racing?

If I go AP Racing I will eventually upgrade the rears with either the a6 upgrade or b7 s4 rears. If boxters, I don't see the need to upgrade the rear.

Default uhhhhhhhhhh 3 times the cost - for me the choice is obvious

people do track events on the A8 rotor with stock caliper - just learn how to brake like its an on off switch instead of riding it

get some power slot A8 rotor or whatevers

Default i already have some solid ate a8 rotors

i love em, they brake well with my axxis ultimate pads. but im not sure they would hold up to track abuse...

Default the

difference between ap racing and brembo are not going to be too big 10mm circumferences and 5mm thickness which comes down to not very much

if you overheat the brembo set up you will also do the same to the AP

solid rotors are great but powerslots and dimples are also great because they don't remove very much material and at the same time allow them to vent

the price is 3 times the brembo - if ap racing even double the performance of brembo the i would get them but they won't - for three times the price it better out preform by triple

instead spend that money on a wideband - will load my pics soon =) and egt and oil pressure since you will be upgrading turbo soon - how is the update on that

and get sways if you don't have them yet - a nice set of track tires will make a big difference

Default Alcon will be cheaper in the long run.

Alcon is designed to compensate with the stock rears.

So that being said, you save your money on upgraded rears. The price of the upgraded rear maintenance.

Stoptech is also designed to work well with stock rears. ST also requires more maintenance than Alcon does.

Not sure if you can justify Alcon or ST BBK prices right now... but it would probably be cheaper in the long run...
