Default 1.8t or 2.8?

I'm getting an A4 soon and i orinally wanted a 2.8, but everything i keep reading says there aren't many mods for it, which i've found true when looking for mods. I'm not sure if i should go with the 1.8t becuase i know there are things i could do to a 2.8 it would just be alot more money. I'm stuck not sure what to do any advice is welcome.

I had the same dilema, settled on 1.8T, no regrets (so far).

Default If you are gonna mod........

Def. get a 1.8t.. 2.8's are great cars as well, just as far as modding goes, there are not as many options as there are in a 1.8t....

Default Well 1.8t is less money, can mod more, lighter car, fun to drive, a moders dream, 2.8...

chillin car, family car, nice if you want to look pretty on the exterior, limited mods, more money in most cases, heavier car, still fun to drive!

1.8 has rubber window trim whereas 2.8 has chrome. some MYs come with different wheel per engine.

Default way to stir it up...take it easy guys.

At the end of the day, its all pretty much the same.

1.8T lightest, most speed mods
2.8 +200lbs, most fun out of the box

Either way your fine. They are both great cars. If you want to mod for the sake of mods, get the 1.8T. You 'can' get the 1.8T to be a bit faster, if your willing to spend the $.

I just bought an A4 used and the engine was not a factor of any significance in my decision. I wound up with the 2.8, where as my boy Cary got the 1.8T. Neither of us are disappointed and at the end of the day, we'll each drop about the same $ and be pretty close. I think mine may drive nicer at the end of the day (I prefer parasitic drag to turbo lag), but I'm pretty sure Cary would disagree. ^_^

Either way, you can't go wrong with an A4...I'd be more concerned with the sport suspension option, as that'll save you a few bucks down the road. Oh yeah...the leather seats in the 2.8 are dope!

Default But at the end of the day, a 1.8t will be faster....

Granted you can supercharge a 2.8, which is badass, giving you what, 310 hp? I have seen 1.8t's with up to 550hp under the hood, couldn't do that with a 2.8... But don't get me wrong, both are an excellent choice, the choice of AUDI!!!!!
