Default More information on this upgrade

Hey Guys-

I'm Mike from TyrolSport, the originator of this upgrade. I did extensive research before settling on this particular filter. The NAPA Gold is one of the best filters on the market in terms of filtering media, burst pressure, flow rate, bypass valve and o-ring seal. The quality is comparable to, if not better, than the OEM Mahle/Mann filters.

The NAPA gold is rated at 30psi bypass(stock is 33psi). What this means is that when the difference in pressure inside the oil filter reaches 30psi, the oil filter will be bypassed to mantain oil pressure to the motor. Given the larger filter media in this filter, the oil filter will not be bypassed as often as the stock filter, giving longer change intervals, and increased flow of clean oil to bearing surfaces.

We've been using this filter on track 1.8Ts for a while now, and have noted a decrease on average of 10-15deg in oil temps for hard running cars. Rather than spending $200 on an aftermarket oil cooler setup, this is a cheap an effective upgrade for those on a budget. Hope this helps some of you.

Default Hell I spent $400 on an oil cooler setup. Got 50+ drop in temps

but I'd be willing to try this on top of the oil cooler anyway, just for $hits and giggles. Thanks for the heads up
