Default I have also felt this...

and when it occurs (at the same 2 to 3KRPM) I'm not quite to full throttle, and putting my foot into it will clear it. At first I wondered if my foot was slipping on the pedel. It is very faint on mine, so I havn't worried about it much, but I wonder if it doesn't have something to do with the wastegate coming open. I've heard that max boost occurs at about 3K, after which the wastegate would start to come open, and at something just off full throttle it should come open a bit earlier. At the lower engine speed the damping on the vacuum source is not going to be as good, so perhaps we are getting some ringing back through the control system. One final observation: I don't think that chipping is going to effect this, I chipped mine and it made no difference. Mind you that's not a good reason not to chip it, mine is now great fun.

Chipping won't help - all my chips have this. (stock, wett, garrett)

Default Yeah!! For the longest time I thought this was my trans slipping! Cam profiles? (more..)

It is much worse w/cold engine. Also, chipping does not help. At least the APR 1.0 bar doesn't.<p>I have also noticed the engine seems noticeably harsher (more vibration) between 2900-3000 RPM regardless of chipping.<p>Since neither of these have been affected by chipping, and are still present in the 99.5 models (with the latest ECU software revision), I'm wondering if these aren't "features" of the cam profiles they are using? Has anyone tried different cams in a 1.8T?<p>Paul<br>'98.5 A4 1.8TQTS in Pearl
