Default is 10w30 Mobil One Synthetic ok for 2001 1.8T for winter (more)

or for summer. If not what's the best oil to use? My local pepboys has only 10w30 left since that "calendar" sale.

Default Audi says 0W-40 is the only approved grade for M1.

5W-30 and 5W-40 for other various synthetic brands.

Default I've run mobil 10W 30 synthetic in my car since I got it

so a little over a year, about 4 changes. I initially had 5W 30 synthetic and was having some lifter chatter and switched to 10W-30 and the chatter is gone.

everyone who replies to your post will suggest 0W40, thats what I will be switching to my next change. of course 10W30 is ok, 0w40 is just better

I'd use a 5w oil for winter so your car will heat up faster

Default Lucky you, my Wal-Mart actually doesn't carry it.

Either in quarts or 5 qt jugs.
