Default 15k service

Took my 2000 1.8t in for the 15k service yesterday. I was told that if I want the oil filter changed that it was at my cost, somewhere between $30 and $40. My owner's manual calls for a filter change at 15k. What's the official word, included or not?

Default No filter

Service for 1.8T provides for a new filter every 10,000 miles (actually 5,000, 10,000, then every 10,000 thereafter). The 2.8 gets a new filter at 15,000.

Default If it is in your owners manual call Audi Consumer advocate

Make them update you in writing if the service intervals have changed from what is in your manual, or tell them you will go to your state AG with a complaint.

An undisclosed part of your purchase price included the required services as documented in your warranty and service booklet. Trust me, this service isnt free. No warranty service is free, you just dont know how much you paid for it as it is peanut buttered across all cars and embedded in the selling price.
