Default no worky worky..... (pics)

the roads here are pretty good. (san diego) so that's not a huge concern.

I'd go with the 18's and S03's, but I know that the car will be driven up to the snow fairly regularly (5 days or so a month, maybe 2 them in actual snow) but for the most part, well we don't have seasons here.

Then again, for that reason (snow) I don't want to go too low, plus I still want it to drive pretty nicely, and I don't plan on tracking it or anything....

thanks for the input though, any and all input helps!!

Default How are 18's better at the track? It's debatable. Most important thing....

Is to fix the nut behind the wheel.

Default Definitely disagree on 18 being better at the track.

In fact, I think Tirerack actually did a study that showed 17s were better.

Default What's your take on the PZero Neros?

These are relatively new. I haven't seen any reviews yet, but am really curious to hear what people think about them. Thanks!

Default 17" has my vote, I have had both...

IMO

1) 17" better on the track
2) cheaper
3) proportions of 17" look better (In 18" 245/35 would be the best, but they won't fit)

Default No probs in Nor Cal w/ my 18" BBS rims.

Get the larger rims. You'll suffer from rim envy if you don't. Seriously. Everytime you see the larger rims on an A4 you'll wish you got those & will probably end up getting them. That's how I ended up w/ my 18" CHs.

Default there is minimal (if any) difference in handling between 17s and 18s...

18s are mainly for the looks (and they do look really good if you keep the wheel gap down to minimum).

If you don't want to deal with bent rims (especially when hitting hard-to-see winter potholes), then 17s is what you want.

Also, as others already mentioned, you'll have a much better selection of all-season tires for 17" rims. As far as tires, Michelin Pilot Sport A/S is highly praised here, although very expensive. If you want better bang-for-the buck, consider Sumitomo HTR+.
