1800-2200 rpm response from a chipped 1.8T

Hi,
I am interested in a chip for my 1999 A4 1.8T. However, I would like to know the impact it will have on the performance and feel in the 1800-2200 rpm range. I understand that the turbo cuts in at 2200 rpm. Does the chip affect this threshold? Without at least semi-aggressive acceleration, the Tiptronic tends to maintain approx 2000 rpm as it moves through the gears, making the 'normal' response feel sluggish. I cannot tell from the available dynamometer graphs what is going on in this range.
Can anyone help?

I've had the APR chip with a qms, so I can only comment on its performance. The answer is... almost none. Really not much increase in power until the > 2,500 mark. More like > 3,000 before it really starts cooking
