Default 1996 A4 CD changer

Does anybody have a an original equipment cd changer for sale for a 1996 A4 with the Delta standard equipment radio or know where I can get one (my local dealer has offered me one for what amounts to usury)?

I am thinking of trading in my 97 A4 on a 01 A4, and I already have a value from the dealership. Do you think they would mind if I took mine out and gave you a good deal?

Will they notice? At what price won't they notice? Is the 97 changer compatible with the 96 radio? What is the model # etc.? I can check out compatability.

Thanks.

Default info...

You dont necessarily need a 96. It connects into the radio via the antenna. The antenna plugs into the cd changer wire (behind the radio) and the cd changer wire goes into the Radio. Kinda like a piggy back connecter. Go see what you can buy those kind of changers 4 new. Also, mine had a remote for the changer that had a wire running to the boz itself. Not sure if this is standard, but if it is, those kinds of changers are cheaper than the ones the actual radio controls.

The important thing is the head unit. I have the Audi "delta" radio as well, so I am 100% sure it will work. The 96 and 97 were the same car, they didnt start changing interior elements until 98 or 98.5.

I just had them replace the changer at about 42k (currently 56k) ... I will check into it and see about taking it out.

I believe it was $600 new.

Would $200 be acceptable if I can swing it?

BTW: I also have clear corner and side markers which I plan on swapping back off to sell online.

Try E-bay under Audi CD search. This is how i bought mine - very satisfied and much lower than a dealer will charge. Otherwise see Clair parts in links section. The Delta unit you have is made by Alpine and only the Alpine unit available through Audi will work. They are expensive but worth it IMO.<p>Santorin/Ecru '97 2.8Q 5 speed. Loaded with leather, wood, adrenaline.
Also: 6 CD changer, clear corners, clear indicators and coming up soon to your rear view mirror. Canadian eh!
