Does anyone know why my trunk lock won't lock at all. With or without key it will not lock (is always open) I thought it would latch mechanicaly but it just stays open is there a history of problems with this device? I would like to fix it myself is this an electricle only locking device or both, Mechanicle too.
Anyone know?

You need to remove the lock cylinder and lubricate it. They are prone to collecting dirt. I use vaseline to lubricate the mechanism. It lasts as long as anything else.
