1997 A4 2.8 Running like garbage

Default 1997 A4 2.8 Running like garbage

Was driving down the interstae and everything was fine then car started run like garbage(No throttle response). Car wont go over 20mph, but got me a few miles home. Starts and ideles fine then when I give it gas in neutral starts missfireing and wont got over like 3k RPM. Pulled the codes and this is what I got. Where do I begin,

After Clearing all the codes and just starting the car and letting it run in neutral and push the throttle a little these are the codes that it threw...

P0102 - Mass Air Flow Sensor (G70): Signal too Low
P0120 - Throttle Position Sensor (G69): Circuit Malfunction

Any help would be appreciated.

The MAF and TPS both ground at the same place, so I'd check the brown/black wires at each connector: you want low resistance to ground. The Throttle connector is at the bottom of the throttle body, so it's not convenient to reach. The fact that something happened all of the sudden with these two codes makes it likely that something electrical and common to both is the reason, and besides the ground, both connect to the ECU. This is a good time to find all ground connectors, including the main battery ground, and clean/lube them.

Next time you scan it, run the engine and watch the mass air flow and throttle-angle, see that these increase when you push the gas.

At least your car got you home; Mine died on the freeway last week (I posted about it), 187,000 and the fuel pump quit.
