Default 1997 A4. Radio not working

It is a stock radio. The fuse is fine. But, it seems to not have power. Is there a common cause for lack of power to the radio?

Delta radio? I have a spare Delta along with a 6 disc changer if you need it.

I don't know what the radio is called. It's a stock 1997 radio. It seems to have no power. Does anyone have an idea on how to test it?

Have you checked the connections?

Next thing to check is to see if the hot wire from the radio is actually connected at the fuse box (or other power source). And is the fuse at the box still good?

If that's good, check the negative.

You can also check connection with the lighting harness, if there's a separate wire for that. If that wire is there, it usually will connect at the dimmer control on the dash.

Next, make sure the antenna is plugged in. Some radios are too smart for their own good and won't power up if there isn't an antenna (or speakers) connected, for fear of damaging components.

Make sure you try it with the ignition on, and the engine on.

If it's still a no-go, take the radio out, hook it to an antenna and connect it direct to a battery. If it still won't power up, you can either take it to get fixed at a local electronics repair shop, or turn it into a door-stop.

Default Main fuse in the side bolster, to the left of the steering wheel?

Or the 5 amp radio fuse (on the back of the radio) ? Adjacent to plugs II and III.

You need the tools to pull the radio. If the radio fuse is blowing it's never good.

On the Delta there are two connections for power, Pin 3 and 8 of plug III

On the newer cars with concert stereo pin 3 is the K -line.

The displays tend to die after a while. Used replacements are available from posters here or on E-bay. Make sure you get the security code.

About 10 minutes work to replace with the radio tools.

I would be interested in purchasing your spare radio.
