1999 2.8 timing belt change instructions
I'm new to the A4 but have done a few timing belt changes on various cars...just wondering if anyone can direct me to a good diy step by step write up? I will have the bently manual for the car, but i find that someone that's done it a few times and writes it up seems to be great first hand info...
thanks for any responses....yes, i've been searching..haven't found a good one here yet....

Did you look in the tech section? STFA?
Some tips:
Use the tools. Set the timing correct. Don't try to hack it up by marking stuff.
Replace all the upper engine seals; cam seals (4), cam adjuster seals (2), cam plugs (2), valve cover gaskets.
Use service position. No need to tear the whole rad support off.

Working on timing belt today
So I've got the front in the service position. Got the serpentine belt off , the top timing belt covers the tensioner.. Having problems with a bolt on the idler wheel bracket. It's so tight I stripped the freakin torx head...what do you do with that? It's the last damn bolt on the bracket..
I have it set at tdc, and have the cam alignment bar..
The water pumps tarted leaking like mo fo, so I figured I'd do the belt now. Car has 236k miles.
