1st and 2nd are hard to get in and out of when the car is cold. Once the car / drivetrain warms up
they are fine. What gives? Car idles at like 1100 rpm for a little bit right after startup, then steps down to 900 rpm after warm.

Double clutch going into second until the car warms up...
the Motul 300 helped mine out a lot. It's definitely not as tough to get into 2nd as it was with the old tranny fluid.

I have this same issue. I changed the transmission fluid and its a bit better now
It hasnt really gotten cold enough to tell for sure but last winter it was terrible. I was scarred to pull that hard on the shifter so I would get let the car warm up for 10-15min and drive a few laps around the parking lot before I went out on the road. Double clutching was a must for me as well
