Default 2.8 or 1.8t

i drove with my friends 2.8 5spd, it has an intake and thats it when we drove i felt like his car had a lot more pull to it and felt faster. i have 1.8t with a giac chip and it felt slower and not as torquey. could this be because i have tiptronic? i would imagine we would have just about the same hp? ne ideas?

That's because his 2.8 is faster than your car

Default that's surprising.......

I have a 2.8 with intake, chip, and exhaust, and it feels about as fast as a couple of chipped 1.8's that I recently drove.

The chip and exhaust certainly made a nice difference, so I would expect that without the a chipped 1.8 would seem faster.

Perhaps there's a problem with your chipped 1.8?

Default disagree......I recently drove a GIAC chipped 1.8 that felt about the same......

as my 2.8 with chip, intake, and exhaust

Default Wheres that video...

Someone had one of a stock 2.8 and chipped 1.8
The 2.8 won.
And I said HIS car...not your car or another 1.8
Hell yeah a 2.8 5speed vs 1.8 slushbox will be faster. That torque convertor might as well be called a torque eater.
