Default 2.8 12v engine rebuilding options

Looking for any suggestions for rebuilding the 2.8 12v motor from my 1997 A4. Would like to increase displacement and develop more torque. Would also like to keep the stock crank if possible to keep costs down. Please email any suggestions you may have.

Default do you know about the tdl conversion?

unfourtunatly it is expensive but it gives 230 hp. soon, there may be a chip avaliable and a supercharger is coming out in a couple of months. talk to brians12v, stang guy. also scottaw and jussnb have the tdl conversion. i hope this helps.

Default TDL will do this.

They can increase displacement from 2.77 to 2.86 and they do maintain the stock crank. They'll do pretty much all the internal engine stuff...pistons, connecting rods, etc.

Their website is www.tdlracing.com. Send me an e-mail if you still have some questions after talking with them.

Default Stasis 2.8 12v rebuild

We are building race motors that are being tuned for 250hp - 300hp. This is usually not cost effective for a street car were you could swap in a 30 valve for less money. We have designed a selection of various cams, intakes, headers etc. which could make a nice bolt on kit. If there was enough interest we could put together a kit and do some testing.

Regarding your displacement question - you are pretty much stuck without changing the crank. You do not want to increase the bore. The material between the cylinders is already questionable. This is the reason Audi brought down the bore on the 2.7 turbo block. (we have blown holes between cylinders in 2.8 race motors)

Please email me with any questions you may have.
