2.8 30v timing reset..How do I do it?

Default 2.8 30v timing reset..How do I do it?

How do I get the timing back on track..The belt was taken off without the cam holder in place.It only moved a small bit but it was enough. Please help

Default Pretty easy. Make sure the crank is correct (use the pin), and then use the bar to correct the cams.

Not much to it.

Just out of curiousity, why did you take the belt off.

Default to change the belt.. I didn't think the cam's would move.I was wrong..very stupid mistake..

Where is the notch on the crank and block? does anyone happen to have pics of it? thanks for the help

Use the crank lock pin. The notch is not on the block, it's on the timing belt cover

always mark the sprockets prior to belt removal, you'll remmember next time

Default You have to loosen the cam gears or you'll never get correct timing. Marking the gears won't work.

Even if the cam gears don't move during the change, they will when you tighten the new belt.
