Default if the timing is correct to begin with and you mark the gears and the belt

and transfer the marking to the new belt there's no reason why it shouldn't work. I've done this on several car, both with and without a cam bar.

Bad advice. Use the tools. No marks!

Default Very simple if you have the cam bar...

Simply pop the cam sprockets off a bit (just enough to loosen them and allow them to spin freely).

Put the timing belt on, don't worry about sprocket position.

Put the lower timing belt cover on and then the crank shaft/accessory pulley.

With a large ratchet or breaker bar, rotate the crank until the TDC mark on the pulley lines up with the timing belt cover's mark.

Next put the the cam bar on. Depending on how much your cam shafts rotated, you'll probably have to put the bar on one side or the other and rotate them until the cam bar slides easily onto both.

At this point, tighten down the bolts on the end of the cam shafts to press the sprockets back into place. Once the sprockets are snug, you can remove the cam bar.

(If I mentioned anything could potentially blow up my motor, please tell me ) This is just how I've done it on my 12V and my 30V.

But how would you know that the timing is correct to begin with?

The cams always jump. As long as the crank was at TDC, now worries.

Default Yes, doesn't matter if the cams jumped. The cam shafts are keyed...

If the tool fits (and it will only fit if the cam shafts are correctly aligned), and the crank is at TDC, then your engine is timed, period.

Default To get the engine at TDC wouldn't I have to not only put the dampner at the correct mark...

but also compression test the cylinders until the intake stroke which is impossible to do considering the cam jumped...I was just reading this in the haynes manual.. So If I turn the crank (clockwise) to the mark on the timing cover and turn the cams (clockwise)to the correct position. It should be the right timing?

Default Take an educated guess and get the belt back on a close as possible.

Rotate the engine to TDC.

Install the pin.

Use the tools to install the belt correctly.

Have someone do a complete timing belt service (water pump, seals, yada, yada)

You are in serious danger of bending valves. You may want to bail out and get professional help. There are a ton of write-ups in the tech session. It's always better to read first. Good luck.
