2.8 oil filter

Have they gone to the larger filter like the 1.8T? My parts people just supplied me with the large style Mann filter for my V6 30V. I'm new to this engine and was not aware of using the larger filter on this thing. I just bought it and there is a fram on it now and it is coming off tomorrow.

many people are using the larger filter for a couple of reasons, more area and more oil.

will the Mann 940/25 fit on the 2.8?

The only Fram that fits is not supposed to be on that engine. 2870A or whatever is for 1.8t.

Don't think we really need to worry about the size of our filters

just get a good quality one like the Mann you just got. I wasn't aware that Fram even lists a filter for the 2.8. I wouldn't use one if they did so it doesn't really matter.
