Default TIP: You can drill holes in your air box UNDERNEATH air filter to get a little more power..........

this works well with a K&N, or any filter for that matter. I have a K&N & it does help a little, but if you're gonna buy one, just buy for the savings of replacement filters.

Default Worth it?--Yes . . .

I run a K&N Drop-in, Ported TB + Ported Manifold. These cheap and conservative mods have noticably changed the performance of my 12v. You will see a measurable drop in your RPM's per MPH. Fourth gear now gives me 40 MPH at a mere 2000 RPM. Fifth gear now gives me a nice consistent power curve: approximately 70 MPH for 3000 RPM, 80 at 3400, 90 at 3800, 100 at 4200, 110 at 4600, and 120 at 5000.

With the exhaust, you will not only see even more performance, but these performance modifications will last the life of the car, unlike turbos which require replacement due to the high heat and mechanical stress they must endure.

You have a thousand bucks in parts listed. This is very cheap. Except for the exhaust, most people with a simple tool kit can safely and competently install the parts themselves and save the cost of professional installation. I neither took autoshop nor had any mechanical experience, yet, I installed all of my parts myself.

For an everyday commuter, I love my 12v, as it has good enough performance too keep up with the fast crowd. If you want a track car, get a smaller, lighter, and more modifiable car.
