2000 A4 with APR chip stalling! Any ideas?
Last night, after a bit of spirited driving, the engine started having problems while I sat at a traffic light. The engine hovered around 1k rpm and produced quite a bit of vibration. Stepped on the accelerator. No response. The engine then stalled. This happened about 5 times while I made my way back home. Every time I was able to restart the car. The car would then run normally until this occured again. I noticed the EPC light came on every time this occured.
The car is a 2000 A4 1.8T 5sp and APR chipped since May 2000 (15k miles on the odometer). Prior to this problem, the engine and APR chip has been flawless.
Has this happened to any one? Please advise.

I don't think it's that. After stalling the first time, I was careful not to accelerate too fast. But it still stalled occasionally when I come to a stop. What does the EPC light indicate?

a few days after having my GIAC chip installed the car stalled for 1/2 a second on the freeway. I went back to dynospot to have the chip looked at and they said they found a few "thin spots" in the soldering.

Disconnected battery. Hope that resets it. Why did it go into throttle adjustment mode?
I just disconnected the battery. Hope that does the same thing. Anyway, after doing that I took the car out for a drive and everything seemed alright again. Hope this will fix it. But one why did it go into throttle adjustment mode?

APR chip for over a year now.
I had my APR chip for over a year now. No problems until now. It's probably not chip related. But I also had an incident with the temperature gauge. It fluctuated wildly. Took it to the dealership, they said the sensing or sending unit failed. They also discovered that my car was chipped and mentioned it to me. I got the my chip prior to the introduction of EMCS. Got me thinking about sending the ECU back to APR to get EMCS upgrade and set to stock mode when I take it to dealership for service.
