anyone know when the factory's going to start making the 2002 models for USA and stop making the 2001? I'm going to be in the market probably this September and I'm curious if they'll have stopped making the 2001 A4's by then. i heard the 2002 A4 will be in showrooms in late October, so when do they start taking orders on the new models? right away?

Don't know about orders on new models, but dealership here says the cutoff date for orders on '01 models is sometime in June.

Since AoA hasn't yet announced pricing, I don't think dealers (except for those shady ones who will take $10k over predicted sticker and rape those who want to drive the first ones on the block) are taking firm orders yet, but most are accepting deposits. Jim Ellis in Atlanta here has told me they've got about a dozen such deposits. Assuming there aren't serious production/delivery delays, US production should begin in June/July, and first models will appear on our shipyards in late September, trickling into dealers by mid-late October.
