2001 A4 Info (PDF Link!)
Hey ppl,
I just got a fax of the 2001 A4 Model guide from Newport Audi.
They will be built starting in May.
Major changes: 170 HP 1.8T, ESP optional, standard side head airbags.
Xenon "& Nav. system are no longer options.. (these were two options I wanted.. i just hope carorder can get one with them.)
If anyone wants the original TIFF file (a little clearer) email me.

2001 A4 Model Guide

Wow! Cool news...thanks for posting this...
...suprised (and disappointed) to see that they're not offering Xenon's or Navigation system on the 1.8T's. Also interesting that there is no more 5-speed manual trans. FWD 2.8...guess that configuration wasn't a big seller.
I wonder why the 1.8T is rated at 170 and not (what I think would be logical) 180 hp rating that's available in other markets (Europe, Australia, etc.)

How lame is Audi...no Nav and Xenon...what the hell is that all about...
I mean for christs sake they should have added the option of leather and left the Xenon and Nav options just where they are.
Bad move Audi...and I was thinking about buying a new A4 to replace my Front Trak...not so now.
Regards,
James R.

ESP on all cars!! Yes!
This is some of the best news that I've heard! Way to think, Audi! Anyone that has any experience with an all-wheel drive car with some form of ESP understands my joy.
I'd take ESP over Xenon and Nav combined.
Driving a fast car with ESP, taking that car to the limit, past the limit, then being corrected by ESP is one of the greatest feelings in the world. It's like riding a rollercoaster - you just want to do it again and again and again...

(remembering fun days in a new C4 taking mad corners, esp keeping me in check, laughing out loud...)

It's all about money and politics (and selling more cars)
I can't fault Audi, they have a business to run. I don't get the Xenon thing though. I assume that more people complain about NAV than anything else - seeing how most people have trouble operating a toaster.
CAS (Cool As Sh*t) that they are offering ESP and 170hp! I'm pumped!
