FWIW, the DL 48 was too small and I exchanged for the 94R DLG, which fits perfectly.
I am sure the DL 48 would work just as well but it would definitely need a different bracket.
Also, I did not need to re-activate the radio on my MY 2001 A4.

currently using intersate 91. its been bullet proof for me. 9v batter trick on the cig lighter might
save radio code if you dont have it on hand
my shop only uses interstate and they are pretty much no questions asked in warranty situation
