I just put a deposit down for a new 2001 A4 1.8T, since they no longer are taking orders for the 2000 A4 models.

I saw the order sheet and the only noticable changes I saw were... (1) standard side pillar airbags, (2) 170 hp engine (+20 from 2000 model), (3) xenon lights are no longer an option,(4) electronic traction control (option; I believe they currently available only on the A8) and (5) some colors were dropped.

It's also noted that there will be no changes to the styling on the 2001 model year A4s(in the US).
I hear the anticapted changes in styling won't be here in the US until 2002.

Has anyone else put a deposit down for a 2001 A4 or planning to buy soon?

If so, I would appreciate any comments you might have.

Am paying 6% below MSRP which amounts to 4-5% above invoice. The dealers are expecting the car to be delivered sometime in July.

There were three colors that were dropped, including Jasper Green...don't recall the other colors.

However, I remember seeing Pearl Black (black with gold flecks of paint) and I'm not sure if that's a new color this year.

Just put a deposit on a 2001 2.8QMS. Went through Wausau Imports -- best deal in the upper Midwest, and super easy to do business with. (Twin Cities dealers were $1000 higher on pricing). Dealer says June-July delivery.
