2002 A4 Avant?
Anyone have any pictures, drawings, or computer enhanced pictures of the 2002 A4 Avant? I'm thinking of waiting until the news to come out to get one but wondered if anyone had any pics. Thanks!

the avants usally come out a year after the sedans... so think 2003... not sure if there will be a
2002 avant... but at the same time, audi would be shooting themsleves in the foot to miss a model year when wagons are getting really "cool" so I guess time will tell. But so far as I know there haven't been any official wagons out....

I actually hope this is a Photo-chop job. If you look at the current A4 Avant rear compared to the A6 Avant rear you'll already see a strong "family" resemblance. I don't think they need to alter the new avant back just to fit in the same style taillights as the sedan. Also I don't like the sloped hatch. It looks more like that fugly IS300 sport wagon (or what ever Lexus calls it).
IMHO the perfect '02 avant would be the new front end with only a very subtley refreshed rear end from the current Avant.

OK, PHEW! It is a photo-chop special...
Here is the original, I thought the scenery looked a bit too much like the initial release photos from Oct. And sure enough, I found this one in the news article.

Euro premier in July, with sales starting in Oct./Nov. Expect US intro by Summer 2002...
I'd expect a quicker intro since the sedan will already be on sale here by Fall. My speculation anyways.
