2004 A4 3.0 Avant vs Saab 9-5 Aero Wagon-- HELP!!

I'm having trouble (deep, emotional trouble) deciding b/w the A4 3.0 Avant (with sports package) and 9-5 Aero wagon. I'm concerned that the A4 just won't be enough space for my wife and I (especially once we start having kids, etc.)
I love the power, suspension and general reliability of the 9-5, but, as a previous 9-3 SE owner, I'm considering a change just for the sake of change. Which leads me to the A4.
Will I begin to feel that my A4 is low on low-end torque?
Will I become frustrated with the knee-on-console? Lack of back-seat/trunk space?
Do I really need Quattro instead of FWD + snow tires in flat, flat, flat Chicago?
HELP!

I see a black 9-5 Aero wagon almost every day and I wish my girl would drive a wagon. grr.... probably end up with some SUV to compromise.
And, you'll still need snow tires or at least no-season tires with Quattro in the winter. 4x0 is still 0.
The real comparo is:
9-3 v A4
9-5 v A6

Chip the a4 if you want some more torque. Quattro is really a great thing in any wet weather. Assuming its the wifes car, you wont be driving it most of the time. SO the 1st two really aren't probs.

most likely...
1. You'll be happy with the low end torque of the 3.0. It's a nice engine, but may lack the top end pull of the Aero (assuming the Aero is a low pressure turbo).
2. Yes, you'll become frustrated with the knee on the console. I get irritated with that everytime I pick up a loaner.
3. Yes, the back seat space and trunk space is limited. With one child it probably won't be an issue, but with two, you might feel a bit cramped...or as the one child sprouts legs and outgrows the back seat.
4. FWD with snow tires is fine for getting around. Where I really like quattro is when you're driving aggressively. FWD just sucks imho. If your wife doesn't like to record her lap times getting from the office to the grocery store, and back home, you probably won't mind the FWD.

Yes the A4 Avant is superb looking, the 3.0 V6 is a very nice engine and Quattro is wonderful...There still will be limited space in the A4 for a family...
The 9-5 is a very good looking car, with a lot more space and well proven engine...
FWD with snow tires will probably be all you need...
Good luck and don't regret your decision...
