Default 235/45/17 on S4 Avus wheel for A4 fits? Anyone done it?

225/45/17 is what I am running, but Bridgestone RE950 does not come in this size.

This would be about 2% off on speedo (from stock 205/55/16), which I am not concerned about.

TIA.

Default I am running that size right now

Was running GoodYear Eagle F1 GS-D2, then got BFG T/A KDWS.

Both tires won't rub.

Default I have the '02 stock sport wheels w/ 235/45/17 Dunlop 9090's on my 98.5

and they fit with no rubbing. I have the stock sport suspension - the non-sport suspension would have even more clearance between the tire and fender if that's what you have (you didn't say). The '02 wheels are the same size (17 x 7.5) and offset as the Avus wheels so your fitment should be the same as mine.

FYI - the clearance between the back of the tire and the suspension components is quite close due to the offset (less than 1 cm). Thus, if you are looking at a tire that is a bit wider than the Dunlop's (which I think are narrow for their size) then you might have an issue there. The S03's are known to be "wide" for their size, and I wouldn't try these in this size/fitment/offset. I have no knowledge of the RE950's, so you're on your own there. Hope this helps.
