Depends on the application I suppose.

For cornering on the track, I'd agree that wider is better. For street driving, probably not necessary.

agreed. just looks nicer

but it always depends on the brand of tire. some 225s will be wider than some 235

I've run 225/45 and 235/40, I prefer the later. I may go 245/40 next.
