255/40/17 A6 4.2 sport wheels will fit
no rubbing - I did a couple of high speed and low speed hard turns - and I checked the suspension clr - Its like stock - The only thing is that I dont think that i will be able to do - is lower my car with those tires on.
The diameter has a difference of .612 percent. its shorter than 225/45/17
It does not feel any slower - Ill have to do another run later.
I'm sure that the 255 tires will greatly help in the canyon runs.

Actually your calculations are a bit off, but not enough to matter.....
A 255/40 X 17 is about 2mm larger in overall diameter than a 225/45 X17, but of course that is completely insignificant under the circumstances!
