3-spoke steering wheel question
Will a 2001 3-spoke sport steering wheel fit on my 97 a4 with a 4-spoke non-sport wheel. Wanted to know if this would work? is it worth it? thanks for your suggestions in advance

yup
its really only worth it if you get a good deal on the steering wheel since you need the airbag and stuff as well. i know phil throttle got markbradford's old steering wheel when he trashed his car.

Just a quick search in Bentley and ETKA show changes in how they mount and the spiral spring connectors. For 97, ETKA shows a nut holding the wheel on. For 2001, it shows the triple square bolt.

No- 96 and 97 both have the same spline count/shaft...
98+ have a different spline shaft, so you'll need to get a '96/'97 3 spoke sport steering wheel to fit. I found this out by trial and error installing my MOMO steering wheel earlier this year.

yup took like two seconds..... if you can get one DO IT its so worth it!!!
the grandpa wheel belongs in the trash!
you gotta get the new wheel and the air bag fyi.
