I know that audi installs the child safety latch hooks in the top shelf of the audi's back seats. If I found a way to connect my 4 point harness to those latches would that be kind of like using a harness bar that normally goes in the trunk. The 4 point harness straps in the back would go straight back shoulder level and connect to the latches on the top shelf of the rear seats. Seems like a cool idea to me.

IIRC, those anchors are for a single strap from a baby seat for the center of each of the 3 rear seats. So, you wouldn't be able to have the harness(es) going straight back.

Plus, you'd have to share the middle one with both pass & driver, which probably wouldn't pass a tech inspection.

this would be for the driver side only... I figured this would be a cheap alternative to a bar

FYI most schools would want you to have the same seat belts for driver and instructor.
