Default bah. you have to shield the bottom and front of the intake manifold to even notice the difference

if anyone notices, the manifold will only cool down when it stops getting hot air from the radiator fan. note that the engine/block is still in operating temperature when shut off(looking at the oil/coolant temps) yet the manifold is getting cooler at a faster rate
ehh, just IMO

Yep, and no guarantee when it fails.

I have one un-installed for a n-dbw if you want to buy it. Let me know.

Default Your EGT's would also show a difference.

But it would be nice to see a before and after test of cylinder temps.

Well I do my best. I have a bit of a learning curve when it comes to Audis in general and forced induction. Most of my experiance hass been with naturally-aspirated Ford smallblock race engines.

I'm currently prepping an '88 Mustang to race in the National Auto Sport Association's American Iron series.

My A4 is my daily driver (and I'm darned impressed with the car, from a racer's perspective.) There's a lot of good engineering in that car.

Default Good luck. I'm a NASA member too - just to do the HPDE's

Fiance might leave me if I buy a car trailer at this time. But seriously, there's a lot of talk in the performance forum regarding mods. You'll feel at home there too

Default Been doing that for 6 years...

What class do you run? We're trying really hard to get AI, AIX and CMC going here in Texas.

Default The heat transfer of the intake manifold would not be taken into consideration when designing

the cooling system. The conduction to the manifold and then convection to the air would be a negligible heat loss for the engine.
