While bringing in my 1999.5 Audi A4 2.8 Quatro in for a oil change at my Audi Dealer, the service manager informed me of a 60,000 service plan that consisted of:
Changing the timing belt
Replace water pump
full tune up w/ change of spark plugs
Brake flush
replace air cleaner
and in general a full check of the all systems.
The price quoted for the service was $1,900. That seemed extremely high for this service by I was told that this is the most important and only major service plan for the car.
My question is - Is is necesary and worth it to pay that much for this service? What are your thoughts and experiences with this?
thanks.

I would bargain with him for a better price.
If they can do it for $1500...I say go for it, keep your hands clean....
