so i have these three JL audio subs, and the box is a piece of ****, always in the way and i can never fit anything in my trunk. so i was thinking of putting one on each side (where i guess the cd changer is supposed to be?) and getting rid of the third. will the sound be different? better or worse?

does the box come out to be a 4 ohm load? 3 ohm?
it's entirely possible that having just one or two hooked up could give a very undesirable load to the amp.
i would suggest selling the box as a whole, subs included, and getting a (different) single 10.

doing something like this will give you the most room in your trunk. You can also check my picture poster for a pic of my sub install. I have a Cerwin 12 in a custom box pointed towards the rear. It just depends on what you want to fit in the trunk. Either way, I say get rid of the three and go with a single sub enclosure. I wouldn't go with two different boxes pointed towards eachother..they will drown eachother out. All you need is one good sub.
