Default 60k service coming up

I need to get my 60k service done. My dad gave me the car after getting the previous service (in warranty, which is well over now) so I've never had one done, and I'm very wary of getting ripped off. Any tips? Here are a few questions...

-Should I take it to a dealership, or to another VW/Audi specialist, or one of the Pepboys/Jiffy Lube places?
-Should I expect them to do everything indicated in the manual?
-How much should I expect to be paying minimum?

TIA,
Afraid of 60k Service

Default you will probably pay upwards of $600

if you go to a dealer, I was quoted $580. They do a lot of crap, but it's nothing you couldn't do yourself actually. I would recommend doing belts (timing belt, serp belt, water pump) if you've got the cash flow - that's another $900 or so.

u can dig audiusa.com for the service intervals and what they'll do. plugs, oil change, filter changes... it's under myaudi. hope this helps... i wouldn't take it to pep boys. take it to a dealer or a VW/Audi shop that is reputable in your area.
