We got the motor reassembled in the 2.8 5 speed and now the car is cranking but has no spark. all connections look good but at some point the original keys were lost. I had a new key cut, but it doesn't have a transponder in it. Do the early A4s have an immobilizer? If so what are my options since I don't have the codes to the car, if not any ideas? Thanks

I know my 96 A4 2.8L Quattro does not use an immobilizer. The key has the transponder in it...
I just went to Napa Auto parts and had them cut me a VW key. Works fine....just a little more wiggle than stock when in. $2 vs Audis $70 or something like that.
