Default 96 A4 ... Trip Computer flashing OIL..... What does it mean?

I change the Oil religiously (every 3k miles) I have never seen this code before. Manual said an Oil change service is OEL.... so I have no idea what OIL means.... oil change? There is enough motor oil in the car so that shouldn't be the problem.

Default Pro. same as "OEL'; follow the manual directions

Only the dealer can reset - unless you have one of these VAG-COM dignostic tools.

Default Change the Oil ...

It only computes this based on miles since the last time the code was reset. Get a VAG tool to reset or ask to borrow someone's. Or just go to a shop you like and ask them to reset it without charging you the $50 - $70 they charge around here (DC). I just let mine blink. It stopped annoying me after about a year. That and the IN1 code.
