Does anyone have the pinouts for the 8-pin DIN plug on the 97 A4?

My CD changer stopped working, there are no jammed CD's, and I want to see if the unit is getting power.

Also - is it correct that there is no separate fuse in the dash fuse box for the CD changer? The manual doesn't show one. The cover to the fuse area is so tight I'm afraid I'll break it off, so I don't want to open it unless I know there is a power issue, or a separate fuse for the CD changer.

indicate use of the factory CD changer is easiest. There is a DIN adapter listed by two manufacturers too, but I didn't follow the links to see if it will do what you want. If you look in one of the posts it mentions the fact that it isn't just a straight converter plug, it needs some electronic smarts.

I read through all the FAQ subject lines, and didn't see either any schematics, nor any CD changer articles that referenced which pins are which on the 8-pin connector? Did I miss something?
