98 2.8 quattro RANDOMLY OVERHEATING AND LEAKING COOLANT!!! HELP!!!

Drain the rad and flush clean water through. Refill with clean water, burp the air out, and let engine heat up and cycle the water through the block. Drain and repeat until water comes out clean. Then refill with proper pink or purple Audi coolant and pray that you didn't goo everything up and need a new rad + heater core.
Could be the source of your overheating, but regardless the fans should come on with A/C so more diagnostics is needed on them as well.

it was actually someone on this forum or audizine forum who said green coolant is OK... but thanks for the info and i will deff flush asap and get correct coolant!!

FYI green coolant is "old style" most vehicles (not just Audis) haven't used it for years. Mixing green with pretty much any new style more "environmentally friendly" coolant is going to clog things up. It looks like thick brown condensed tomato soup.

Yah I bought my 94 a4 2.8 it had green coolant but me being new to audi didnt know now i need to head job. Could use some help on that also. PM me. I dont know exactly why though.
