not sure about your engine, but the 2.7T has an upper and lower oil pan, i know, i just broke both on a damaged road... you will want to be sure that only the lower is damaged if your car has both (and i think it does).

the lower pan covers the upper pan... so you can damage the lower without harming the upper, but not the other way around lol
as for if it is likely just the lower, yes, more often than not, it is just the lower, but in my case, it was both. if it is just the lower, there is really nothing in the way... it is very easy. if it is the upper as well, it becomes a whole different ball game lol.

Take a look for yourself. Only thing in the way is the sway bar. It hides the back line of bolts on the pan. But if you just take out the 4 bolts that hold that up, it will just swing down and hang by the control arms on either side.
Don't need a jack. A pair of ramps would do it.

Funny, kinda. I just cracked mine (again) on Saturday, going through a huge dip in the street, while looking to the side. So far the gouges and cracks have been small enough to repair with high-temp epoxy putty. Not all that long ago I saw new lower covers on Ebay for about $30.
