Hi all, new guy here in the CA high desert. My boss just got a real nice '98 A4 Quattro 1.8 stick at an estate auction; only 35k miles but it was garaged for several years, so as you may guess, the fuel system is a mess. His mechanic is having a tough time finding a fuel level sending unit; Audi and all the usual aftermarket places say out of stock. Any suggestions would be appreciated - he also has a '93 CS100 wagon and a TT coupe; he just isn't much into forums so I handle that. Thanks!

Yes, I see that the sending unit is not as available as it was just a few short years ago. Many times it is only a broken wire in the sender that is the issue and can be repaired. I think that Victorymike18 made that very same repair recently.
I've had good luck buying parts from Spareto in Europe. Very reasonable shipping rates.
Edit: I've also purchase parts from these guys, also in Europe. https://mastedaparts.com/
A German company but parts can ship from places like Latvia.

Over a year later, but I managed to pull a serviceable fuel level sending unit from an A4 Quattro in the Pick-A-Part in Ontario, CA. $23 and change. Now on to the next problem...
