Default 99.5 CD Changer Problems

has anyone else out there experienced the problem of having the CD changer give those ERR1 messages on CD's that might be a little scratched, but otherwise play in all other CD devices? and if so, how did you correct this... can it be corrected?

Default Re: 99.5 CD Changer Problems

I just took my changer in to the dealer because I was getting the Err1 message on all CDs. He told me that I had to reprogram the radio (via the VAG tool) to let it know that the CD changer was, in fact, installed. However, after they looked at it, the radio returned the Err3 message; therefore, the CD changer unit was faulty. This may not be the same thing that you are referring to, but if your CD is skipping intermittantly and not at the same point on the same CD, it might be related. I like having a CD player in my car, but this one doesn't seem to be built that well. By the way, reprogramming in $43 where in am in Southern California; and, I don't think it's really necessary.
