Default 99 a4 rpms stay up between shifts

I just got a 99 a4 1.8 t and it seems that the throttle is sticky between shifts...

is this by design? Does a chip alieviate this?

i'm not sure if some of it may be that the clutch releases so high... can I adjust this on the clutch pedal?

Heavier flywheel and the clutch can't be adjusted.

A lighter flywheel will pull 'em down faster, but most people just get used to it.

Default its caused by 2 things in a non DBW 1.8t engine

first its the spring action of the throttle body. if you push the throttle(in the engine compartment) by your fingers and let go you will notice a recoil effect which actually gives it some more gas when you leg go of the accelerator abruptly. second, its the diaphram (infront of the pink stuff) a vacuum pump controls that, which also slows the retraction on the throttle body (to give you that luxury pedal feel), its also actuates the throttle to add engine idling speed(rpm) when you turn on the AC. it also helps when the engine is stalling

So are there any modifications to reduce this? Or do most folks just live with it as someone else posted?
