It is available as an option on all Audis, it's standard on several. As for acceleration, well that's a matter of perspective. The 1.8T can get out of its own way. It's got lots of torque down low, making it very driveable and the engine is very smooth. If acceleration is a consideration then the manual transmission is a must. This is a heavy car with a solid feel, drive one, that's the best way to answer your questions about its performance. Besides, the only opinion that matters when buying a car is yours.
