A4 1.8T Quattro vs A4 2.8 V6 Quattro...

Guys, here is my dilemma.
I've found a pair of A4's I'm interested in, mostly as a daily driver. I'm replacing my GMC Yukon, which is simply too big and too cumbersome for me to bother with anymore.
A4 1.8T vs A4 2.8, both are 5-spds, both *seem* fully loaded, and both have Quattro.
I'm new to the Audi space, as I've been a BMW loyalist for the past several years.
Which car is quicker? Which car is more reliable, and which car is smoother, and more fun to drive.
Modifications will be nil, as I have a BMW 325is that I club race.
Mileage and price is similar for each car.
Any ideas on which direction I should go?

Sorry.
Both cars are 98's. I'm looking at used ones, simply because that's in my price range, and the general notion that I hate buying new cars (after having several ones...).
Mileage is around 90,000 km (for us Canadians...).

It will be smoother, in stock form it has more power (though a chipped 1.8T will be faster, but you said no mods). Day to day drivability will be more pleasant with the normally aspirated engine, unless you like to wind out the engine on a regular basis. Reliability of the normally aspirated 2.8 will also be better (less plumbing and hoses to worry about). No potential for turbo failure on the 2.8.
The 1.8T is my only car, so I've chipped it (shhhh, don't tell AoA), and it's been a blast to drive. If I was leaving it bone stock, there is no way on earth I would have picked it up.

definately a 1.8T.... and considering what year the car is... for a few hundred dollars you can improve the HP by +47hp and 80 lbs of tq. =)
heheh sorry guys... the 1.8T is a lot more nimble on its feet.
